As proud members of the European Suppliers of Waste-to-Energy Technology (ESWET), SPIG and GMAB are committed to advancing sustainable waste management and clean energy solutions. ESWET serves as a driving force in promoting the critical role of Waste-to-Energy (WTE) technologies in achieving environmental protection, reliable energy generation, and a circular economy.
The cutting-edge technologies developed by ESWET members power the majority of Waste-to-Energy plants across Europe and globally. These systems are essential for recovering energy and materials from non-recyclable waste that would otherwise burden landfills. In doing so, WTE actively contributes to reducing harmful emissions, including methane—a greenhouse gas with 84 times the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of carbon dioxide over 20 years. By converting non-recyclable waste into clean, reliable energy, WTE solutions close critical gaps in global sustainability efforts.
Aligned with ESWET’s vision, SPIG and GMAB champion WTE as a vital pillar of the energy transition and a necessary, responsible solution for cutting greenhouse gas emissions. ESWET plays a key role in driving awareness, producing fact-based resources such as reports, videos, and position papers, while actively engaging EU policymakers to shape the future of Waste-to-Energy.
