ADIOX® Dioxin Removal
GMAB™ has developed a number of unique technologies that can be retrofitted into existing plants and integrated with our total package solution.
The ADIOX® dioxin removal process leverages the strong affinity that dioxins have for carbon. By integrating tiny carbon particles into polypropylene (PP) plastics, we create a highly effective material for dioxin abatement. This innovative approach utilizes the adsorptive properties of carbon, ensuring that the dispersed carbon particles within the PP-plastics efficiently capture and eliminate dioxins from the environment. This method not only enhances the material’s effectiveness but also contributes to a cleaner and safer ecosystem.
When a dioxin molecule is present in the flue gas, it is first absorbed by the polypropylene (PP) material. From there, it migrates to a carbon particle where it is strongly adsorbed, meaning it attaches firmly to the carbon’s surface. The PP material acts like a selective membrane, showing a preference for capturing molecules like dioxins. Once the ADIOX material has reached the end of its service life, it is incinerated. During this process, the dioxins are destroyed, effectively removing them from the ecological cycle and ensuring they do not re-enter the environment.
Tower packings and droplet separators, produced of ADIOX material, can be installed in wet, saturated and dry applications.
