Innovative Technologies

Since its inception, GMAB™ has been at the forefront of innovation and product development. In the late 1980s, GMAB became the pioneer in implementing flue gas condensation in Waste-to-Energy plants. This groundbreaking step set the stage for numerous advancements in the field. One of their notable innovations is ADIOX, a technology for dioxin removal developed in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. This technology has been successfully installed in over 140 incineration lines, showcasing its effectiveness and reliability.

Another significant development by GMAB is MercOx™, a wet scrubber technology designed for mercury capture, including elemental mercury (Hg°), utilizing hydrogen peroxide. This technology ensures efficient mercury removal, contributing to cleaner emissions.

GMAB also introduced Sulfur Recirculation, a technology aimed at reducing high-temperature corrosion and dioxin formation in Waste-to-Energy plants. This innovation enhances the longevity and efficiency of the plants.

For NOx reduction in grate-fired furnaces, GMAB developed CUTNOX®, a primary measure that involves injecting an air-water jet into the furnace. This method effectively reduces NOx emissions, making the process more environmentally friendly.

The ReZinc® process has been jointly developed by GMAB in collaboration with Renova. It uses scrubber effluents to leach fly ash. The leachate is precipitated and dewatered, producing a zinc-rich product that can be used to produce recycled zinc. The majority of leached fly ash is then recirculated back into the incineration process, destroying the dioxins and detoxifying the fly ash.
